“When we decided in 2011 to start making brandies and fruit liqueurs, the idea of making gin was quite logical, since our main raw material for the production of essential oils is juniper, a key component of gin.

So I set off on a trip to England to visit some gin producers, get to know the drink better, and acquire the knowledge I needed to make a top-quality product. After a journey full of impressions and new knowledge, I combined everything with my knowledge of medicinal plants and spices we use to make essential oils. I made a mixture of herbs and spices, I added a high-quality alcohol and pure spring water from primeval forest of Kočevje. The unspoiled nature of primeval forest of Kočevje has ensured clean and surprisingly soft water, which gives Berryshka London Dry gin velvety softness and harmonious harmony of taste.

Berryshka London Dry gin contains ten spices and herbs of the highest quality. They include angelica roots, which we collect locally in the wetlands of the Dolenjska region, iris roots we grow ourselves, juniper berries are carefully selected and of the highest quality, and other herbs are obtained from verified suppliers.

In November 2011, the recipe for the first attempt making gin was created. I carefully selected all the ingredients, considered their tastes and allocated their proportions to the recipe number one. After the distillation, the first Slovenian gin of internationally recognised top quality was born and so the number one recipe is still happily distilled today.”
